The Mental Load Reset for Women in Leadership

Executive leader + happy mom, without the chronic overwhelm.

Schedule With Me
Sound familiar?

By 5:30am, you drag yourself out of bed after a night of dealing with your restless, teething ‘bundle of joy’ –

just so you can maybe have a half hour of relative peace and quiet before the barrage of questions, meltdowns and general chaos that will soon ramp up.

Where are my glasses?

Can you print my book report?

Honey, did you confirm the dinner reservation for Saturday?

Mom! I’m going to be late for track practice!

This toast is yucky.

Honey, the baby just threw up and I’ve gotta run – can you get this?

Slack pings, packed lunches, emergency childcare and finding lost homework.

Reconfirming pickups for the kids so your long planned networking drinks with a major funder isn’t interrupted by frantic calls from the school.

By midday, the backup babysitter (who, let’s face it, is mediocre at best) calls your number, again, because somehow you’re always the “go-to-parent.

Then your board presentation runs late, you arrive flustered and off your game for the pitch meeting with the funder, and the first thing you hear when you walk in the house is,

“What’s for dinner?”

Every person in this household depends on me to manage their lives for them.
My own husband feels like my 4th child!
And I contribute just as much to the family finances.
How much longer can I live like this??!”

Now it’s 9 PM and you’re folding laundry while answering emails from your executive team –

and ignoring missed calls from your closest girlfriend
because you have no emotional energy left.

Later in bed, you finally have time to catch up on the mountain of invisible labor left undone:

  • filling out late dentist forms

  • submitting camp deposits just before the midnight deadline

  • adding birthday gifts to your Amazon cart

  • and searching for the right color shirt for your son’s Spirit Day.

All the while there’s that make or break conversation with your partner you keep postponing because you’re too tired to manage their feelings and reactions to what you really want to say.

You may look to other people like you have it all, but inside you feel like you’re heading for a legit nervous breakdown.

What Becomes Possible
(The Mental Load Reset)

What would it be like to live from your truth and raise your children with a version of success that makes room for joy? To stop white-knuckling your way through your days and start moving through them with an ease that respects your unique rhythm

“To be truly visionary we have to root our imagination in our concrete reality while simultaneously imagining possibilities beyond that reality.”

After our work together,
life starts looking and feeling different:

In your body

Mornings don’t start with dread or a tight chest. You sleep, you breathe, and you aren’t tense from sunup to bedtime.

At home

The family calendar no longer lives in your brain. Other adults own tasks from start-to-finish (no reminders required). Dentist forms get handled. Pickups aren’t a fire drill. You’re not the household project manager by default.

With your kids

You’re less snappy, more present. Homework help doesn’t compete with a mental checklist that’s a mile long. There’s laughter at the dinner table again.

In your relationship

The quiet tally fades. You ask for what you need without a blowup, and follow-through actually happens. And date nights? They start popping up on your calendar, even when you didn’t orchestrate it.

At work

You lead without overcompensating at home to “make up for it.” You can say “No” without a TED Talk. Your time for deep work, and recovery, stays protected.

In yourself

Guilt turns down, self-respect turns up. Boundaries stick. You trust your read of people and situations and act in ways that match your values, not someone else’s criticism.

This isn’t another self-help program or life hack.

It’s a mind-body reset that aligns how you live with what you believe, so the woman your family sees at home and the leader your team trusts are the same person: grounded, whole, and fully present

How We’ll Work

(a.k.a. The Mental Load Reset, not another life hack)

My style:

calm and steady, with direct, and immediately useful feedback.

I won’t sit back and nod while you do all the labor here, too. I’ll actually tell you what I notice, help you test better language for conflicts, and celebrate with you as you make actual shifts, not just performative ones. We’ll honor the unique intersectionality of your culture, generation and context. This way your plan fits your real life and can be stuck to even when life is lifing

What it feels like:

grounded, spacious, and practical.

We slow the pace so your body catches up and your nervous system isn’t left behind. We also move when movement matters. You can expect equal parts compassion and straight talk. Superwoman cape not required; comfortable clothes welcome.

What we’ll actually do
    • Simple daily practices from trauma-informed yoga to lower the constant edge in under two minutes (yes, really).

    • Accelerated Resolution Therapy [ART] to dial down the temperature on high-stress moments, like the “You’re doing pickup, right?” text at 4:59 p.m., the “quick question” in Microsoft teams, or the disrespectful comment that set you off.

You’ll notice fewer spikes in your stress, clearer thinking, and less “I’m already at a 9/10 before breakfast.”

    • Internal Family Systems [IFS] to meet the parts that jump in and take over: The Fixer, The Pleaser, The Quiet Scorekeeper, The “If I Don’t Do It, It Won’t Get Done.”

    • You’ll learn to lead these parts of yourself (not muzzle them), so you can say “No” without a TED Talk and “Yes” without resentment.

    • Clinical hypnotherapy to break out of thought loops (nighttime catastrophizing, rehearsing speeches you never deliver, and the constant overexplaining) and decide on clear, confident responses you can use the same day.

    • Simple methods to make the invisible visible and shared between you and your spouse, including start-to-finish ownership, instead of “remind me again.”

    • Clear agreements with real follow-through (who, what, when, how we’ll know it’s done).

    • Repair rituals to resolve conflicts quickly, so one missed task doesn’t turn into a week-long cold war.

    • Translation: you retire as the household’s unpaid COO, and the family calendar moves out of your brain.

    • A 90-day home reset plan with trackable checkpoints.

    • Simple metrics like “number of reminders you didn’t send” and “times you said no without explaining.”

    • Tiny course-corrections where needed so changes hold when life gets loud.

Session flow & formats

Weekly sessions

for 50 minutes, at an investment of $300. Make steady progress with real-world practice between meetings.

Reset Intensives

for 3 hours/day over 2–5 days to move faster when patterns are seemingly impossible to fix or your schedule is beyond maxed.

Optional brief partner sessions

to align on agreements. We’re talking laser-focused solution-focused meetings, not meandering couples therapy.

A few promises from me

No 47-tab spreadsheets where you are tracking even more than you can currently manage.

No giving out gold stars to your partner for “helping” once.

No playing at therapy in a world that doesn’t exist. We’ll acknowledge the truth, make a targeted plan, and get your life back in sync – at home and at work.

Envision waking up feeling able to enjoy the life that you’ve built, and liking the woman you see in the mirror each day.

That shift begins with one step

step two

Begin With Your Goals In Mind

In our first session, we’ll talk about what’s been weighing on you, what’s no longer working, and the changes you most want to see.

step three

Create Lasting Change

We’ll meet consistently, whether weekly individual counseling, a multi-day intensive, or adjunct couples work, so you can start living joyfully, in step with your truth.

SCHEDULE WITH ME
  • It’s the planning, tracking, and remembering that keeps a family running. If it all lives in your head, you’re the default parent. We externalize the load and build start-to-finish ownership so it’s shared.

  • We calm your nervous system first, then set clear agreements, ownership over who manages what, a system for consistent checkins and easy repair rituals. This way change doesn’t require constant conflict or you making all the decisions.

  • Yes. We reduce the constant edge, protect recovery time, and put home systems in place so your leadership isn’t propped up by overworking at home.

  • Not to start. We can add brief partner check-ins to lock in agreements once you’re ready. These are laser-focused meetings, not marathon couples therapy.

  • We can always adjust language and methods of accountability; brief partner sessions can also help jump-start buy-in.

  • It’s individual work that addresses the weak links in your system at home. If your relationship also needs repair, we’ll discuss targeted couples work.

  • Many feel less tension and fewer spikes of anxiety within 2 to 3 sessions. A 2–5 day Reset Intensive compresses months into days.

  • Yes they will see you have more presence, less snapping, and smoother routines. You’ll notice fewer “fire drills” and more actual connection.

  • My practice is private pay only, for the greatest degree of flexibility and privacy. If you have out-of-network benefits, you can choose to seek reimbursement for the intake and the first hour of each intensive day. HSA/FSA accepted.

  • Daytime, confidential telehealth for clients physically located in VT, MD, DC, VA, SC, IL, NM, FL, GA at the time of services. Hours (EST): Tue–Thu 11:00–4:00, Fri 11:00–2:00
